Argon Laser

Argon laser is used to treat various eye conditions; the device is attached to a slit-lamp microscope. An intense beam of light is directed onto the retina to carry out the treatment and further examination.

An argon laser has multiple uses, it may be used for

  • Diabetic photocoagulation
  • Glaucoma
  • Proliferative retinopathy in people with diabetes
  • Repairing retinal tears and small retinal breaks
  • Abnormal blood vessel growth over the retina
  • To prevent an eye condition from getting worse
