A slit lamp is a microscope with a bright light used during an eye exam. This test helps ophthalmologist get a closer look at the different structures of the eye which includes eyelids, conjunctiva, iris, lens, sclera, cornea, retina and optic nerve. Itβs a key tool in determining the health of your eyes and detecting eye disease.
The specialist will be able to detect a range of conditions, among many others; they may observe abnormalities such as,
