Chalazion
Chalazions are a red bump on that are formed on the eyelid. It is also called an eyelid cyst or a meibomian cyst. It slowly forms when an oil gland in the eye becomes blocked. At first, the chalazion may be painful, but becomes dormant after a certain time. It can usually observed forming on the upper eyelids but may occasionally form on the lower eyelid too.

Chalazion procedure is performed by an ophthalmologist or oculoplastic surgeon, a doctor who specializes in plastic and reconstructive procedures involving the eyelids and certain other parts of the face. It is an outpatient procedure, where the surgeon makes an incision in the eyelid and removes the oily content of the chalazion. Both adults and children can undergo this procedure.
